Who's Holdin': Press

I feel I've been saying this a lot lately, but once again I have to give props to a band that calls the SC mountains home. Every time I see Who's Holdin' live, I'm always impressed with the energy, enthusiasm, and positive vibe they're able to project and wash over their dedicated supporters and new fans alike. Their latest album, Rollin' On, is an excellent presentation of their music and ideas. Fun lovin' and eminently danceable, there are instant classics throughout the CD. The guys show their Irish roots in "Drunken the Same" with insightful lyrics such as "...Irish eyes are smiling, 'cause we're all half in the bag, we like to drink-we like to smoke, we like to fuck-we like to toke, it's all the same the world around, we all get drunk we all fall down!" In a world where there is so much anger and aggression in music, it's important to support a band who just has fun with it. Sure, there are more serious topics in some of the songs on Rollin' On, but you can party and dance and smile and laugh through it all. A toe-tappin' good time absolutely guaranteed.
Building a cult following over the past decade for their raucous, adrenaline -fueled rock shows, the local mountain men in Who’s Holdin jam out a wide variety of styles known to get a dance party cracking. With sounds ranging from Celtic rock to metal and punk, Who’s Holdin has a Cake feel with the duo of Ian McDonough on lead vocals/guitar and Troy Tano on the trumpet/backup vocals.
